Automation and Controls

While it is not ideal, in critical schedule-driven projects, Control Modules can enable loop checks to proceed while the balance of the application is still being developed.

Automation and controls

From stand-alone controllers to plant-wide automation systems, ACC provides smart solutions for automating process applications, utilities, and machinery.

Our approach is based on modular design techniques. First, we establish a thorough understanding of your process and equipment. This allows us to identify the modules that form the building blocks of the control application.

Control modules, such as on-off valves, motors, VFDs and PID loops, provide the interface to field devices and a standardized method for commands, status, alarming, and interlocking. The Control Modules are designed, coded, and thoroughly tested allowing instances to be deployed with confidence in the stability and integrity of the underlying modules.

The Control Module instances form the foundation for the equipment modules, sequences, and phases that make up the functions required for operation of the system. Examples include temperature control, level control, pressure control, transfer, ingredient addition, CIP, and SIP. These functions can be executed in manual mode using the HMI, or in automatic mode by a recipe engine or other software component.

As with any modern application, user experience is critical. In the design and implementation of HMI/SCADA applications, it is ACC’s goal to provide a tool for operators to more effectively control and monitor the process and equipment.
